Description
King Edward VII Grammar School was built in 1909 by architects Coales and Johnson. The building is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and a stone plinth, topped with a green slate roof featuring a central cupola. It has advanced hipped gables over the outer three windows on each side and consists of two storeys and a basement, with a total of eleven windows. The centre window on the first floor is round, and the casements are fitted with mullions and transoms. At the front, there is a central segmental stone porch with wreathed oval outer windows, supported by steps and paired Renaissance Ionic columns. The north side features a single-storey wing that includes five windows and a door.
