Description
Numbers 69 and 71 on Leicester Road are a house that has been converted into two dwellings, dated 1704. The building is constructed of red brick with a Welsh slate roof, featuring two brick ridge stacks. It has brick coped shouldered gables with kneelers, brick bands, and a painted wooden modillion cornice.
On the left side, there is a projecting cross wing with a gable facing forward. The house has two and a half storeys with six 6/6 sash windows, two of which are located on the wing and have brick cambered lintels and keystones. There is a blocked window above the right-centre doorway, which features a wooden doorcase with a flat bracketed canopy, a six-panelled door, and an overlight.
In the gable of the cross wing, there is a two-light horizontal sliding sash window, also with a brick cambered lintel and keystone. On the right end of the building, there are blocked windows, including a first-floor two-light wooden mullion and transom window, as well as an attic two-light horizontal sliding sash. There are extensions at the rear of the property. The date 1704 is marked in black bricks on the right end gable.
