Description

These two cottages date from around 1850. They are built of granite and slate rubble stone with red brick dressings and a Swithland slate roof. A prominent Elizabethan-style ornamental stack rises from the centre of the roof, with two additional stacks at the rear. The windows are mostly leaded light casements, arranged as follows. The left-hand cottage has a one-light window, followed by two three-light windows. A gabled open porch with a door leads into the cottage, with two two-light dormers above. On the left end are two two-light windows, a gabled open porch with a door, a two-light dormer, and a two-light window in the gable. A further two-light window is located in a rear outshut. The right-hand cottage has two one-light windows, a two-light window, a two-light dormer, and a two-light window in the gable.
