Description
Nos. 241 and 243 on Forest Road are two cottages built around 1850. They are constructed from slate rubble stone with buff brick detailing, featuring nogged eaves and a Swithland slate roof. The cottages have three ornamental buff brick stacks in an Elizabethan style. They are 1½ storeys high and have leaded light casement windows, with a gable on the left side.
Starting from the left, there is a canted bay with a Swithland slate roof and a two-light window in the gable. Next, there are two two-light windows with two dormers above them, followed by a gabled stone porch with a door on the right. On the left end, there is a timber open work porch with a door, and on the right end, there are a three-light window, a two-light window, and a two-light dormer. The ground floor windows feature slightly cambered lintels.
