Description

The Village Wellhouse, dating from around 1850, is a Grade II listed structure located on Woodhouse Forest Road. It is built from granite rubble stone and dressed granite, featuring timber work and a Swithland slate roof. This single-storey building has a gabled design and is open at the front, with intricate open work sides set on a stone plinth. At the rear, there is an apsidal niche in the stone wall that contains a bull's head, likely made of bell metal, which serves as a water spout, with a small granite trough positioned beneath it.
