Description

This is a range of six cottages dating from around 1850, located on the north side of Maplewell Road in Woodhouse Eaves. The cottages are constructed of granite rubble stone with a Swithland slate roof and feature two ridge stacks and two end stacks of buff brick, designed in an Elizabethan style. They are arranged over one-and-a-half storeys, with six lattice casement windows— three-light to the ground floor and two-light dormers above. Each pair of cottages has a large, gabled, open-work double porch, constructed with rubble stone sides and a Swithland slate roof. Casements and doors are present at the rear, along with six dormers. The cottages have group value alongside a village pump located near the right end of the range.
