Description

The Vicarage is a house dating from around 1840, probably designed by W. Railton. It is constructed of granite and slate rubble stone, with stone dressings, and has a Swithland slate roof with stone coped, shouldered gables and three ridge and side stacks, the top flues of which are dressed stone. The house is in the Tudor style and has two storeys, featuring stone mullion sash windows, stepped clasping buttresses to the porch, and a battlemented parapet.

The entrance is on the left side, with a two-story projecting porch. The porch has a stone Tudor arched doorway with a glazed door and a four-pane sash window above. A projecting stack is located to the right of the porch, and there is a similar ground floor sash window. The front of the house, which faces the road, has a gable to the left. It incorporates a polygonal stone mullion bay with a three-light window above, and a blocked single-light window in the gable. A similar three-light window is positioned to the right, with a two-light window above it. On the far right, there is a 20th-century window with a half dormer above. This dormer window is a two-light casement with a stone coped, shouldered gable and kneelers.

At the rear of the property, among other windows, a staircase window features panes arranged in a pattern.
