Description
The School House, built in 1860, is constructed from granite and slate rubble stone and features a Swithland slate roof. It has decorative finials on the gables and side and rear stacks made of similar stone with ashlar flues. The building stands two storeys high and has lattice casements with dressed stone sills. A central door is topped with a canopy that also has a Swithland slate roof. To the right of the door, there is a three-light casement with a two-light dormer above it. The left gable features a canted bay with a Swithland slate roof and a two-light window above, with a stone tablet inscribed 'School House MDCCCLX'. There is a 20th-century garage extension to the right, also with a Swithland slate roof, and 20th-century extensions at the rear. In the front garden, there is an ashlar bell-cote and bell from the roof of the original school, which dates to around 1840.
