Description
Nos. 80 to 88 on Brand Hill are a range of five cottages built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from slate rubble stone with red brick dressings and eaves, topped with a Swithland slate roof featuring three ridge stacks. The cottages are two storeys high and have six 2-light horizontal sliding sash windows with small panes; the ground floor windows include top lights and have cambered lintels. At both ends and between the windows, there are five open work timber porches, two of which are joined as a pair, each with gable Swithland slate roofs. The doors are mostly made of planks. The right end of the building is rendered, and there are 20th-century single-storey extensions at the rear, which include doors and windows, some of which are horizontal sliding sashes. The front of the cottages remains fine and unaltered.
