Description

There are two former parish boundary stones dating from around 1800, located outside the outhouse of Longdale Cottage and approximately 50 meters to the left. These triangular stones, made of Swithland slate and resembling milestones, are inscribed on two faces. One stone reads "Longdale: Woodhouse" and the other "Newtown Linford: Longdale." They marked the boundaries of the small former parish of Longdale and have group value with Longdale Cottage.
