Description
Nos. 32 and 34 on Market Place in Mountsorrel are 18th-century shops and a cottage that form part of a terrace of four. The buildings are whitewashed and rendered, likely made from granite rubble stone, with a Swithland slate roof and a brick stack on the left ridge. They rise to 2½ storeys and feature three 3-light casement windows with top lights in the upper storey.
On the ground floor, the left side has a 19th-century shop front with panelled pilasters and a plain entablature, alongside a sash window and a 20th-century part-glazed door. Next, there is a tripartite sash window with a 1/1 configuration, paired doors under a common bracketed hood, with the left door being 6-panelled. The right side has a 19th-century shop window with a bracketed hood. There is a narrow forecourt in front of No. 34, paved with setts.
