Description
Stonehurst Farmhouse is a house that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the 18th century and was slightly altered in the 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick with a granite rubble stone plinth and features a Swithland slate roof with brick end stacks.
The main range of the farmhouse is three storeys high and has three 2/2 sash windows on the front. There are two 3/3 sash windows on the second floor. On the ground floor, there is a 2/2 sash window on either side of a central wooden doorcase, which is adorned with pilasters and a narrow bracketed hood. The door is a six-panelled design with an overlight above it. The ground and first floors have cambered lintels, and the building features two brick bands and wooden bracketed eaves.
To the right, there is a range that has a hipped Swithland slate roof and two ridge stacks. This range is two storeys high and has a 6/6 sash window on both floors facing Loughborough Road. On the right side of this range, there is a 6/6 sash window on both floors, along with two 2-light horizontal sliding sashes. There is also a similar 3-light window, a four-panelled door, and a similar 2-light window below. The eaves are partly wooden bracketed and partly brick dentilled.
The range continues to the rear as outbuildings, which include double doors, loft doors, and windows. Additionally, a garden wall made of granite rubble stone extends from the left end of the main range along Loughborough Road, standing approximately three meters high.
