Description
The New Inn is a public house dating from the early 17th century, with a 19th-century extension to the left and 20th-century window features. The original section is timber-framed, featuring small tension braces at angles and inset principals, with whitewashed brick infill and a rendered plinth. It has a thatched roof and a brick chimney at the rear. The building is 1½ storeys high and has 1½ bays. The ground floor to the right has 20th-century three-light barred wooden casements, and there is a thatch eyebrow over a half-bay to the left, which also contains a 20th-century door set in a rendered architrave, with remnants of a blocked two-light window above. The 19th-century extension to the left is made of whitewashed brick with false painted timbers, also topped with a thatch roof and featuring 20th-century brick chimneys. This extension is two storeys high with two bays of 20th-century barred wooden casements and a central 20th-century door. There are also 20th-century extensions at the rear.
