Description
Brockington Art and Design Centre is a former school that now serves as an annex of Brockington College. It was built in 1860 by the architects Millican and Smith, likely funded by Charles Brook of Enderby Hall. The building is constructed from granite rubble, featuring limestone quoins and window dressings. It has a steeply pitched slate roof with coped gables and gablets on the kneelers, as well as pale brick chimneys with offset caps.
The front of the building is irregular and consists of five bays, with one storey. The central bay is gabled and projects outward, topped with a cross finial on a large corbelled stone base, and features a large four-light window with traceried design. To the left of the centre, there is another gabled bay with a central chimney and two two-light windows that have plate tracery. The right side mirrors this with two similar windows and smaller gables above, all of which have cusped tracery.
On the left side, there is a projecting lobby with a parallel roof, an arched doorway at the right end, and 20th-century single lights and a door at the front. The right gable end of the school includes a three-light window with plate tracery.
