BRAMPTON Outbuilding to the north-west of Hollins House

GV II

Outbuilding. Late C18 with C19 and C20 alterations and additions. Coursed Coal Measures Sandstone with ashlar dressings, a single ridge brick stack, and a stone slate and concrete tile roof. L-shaped range, with a taller 2-bay range, and a lower single-bay range attached at right angles. The taller range has 3 ground-floor doorways, with boldly tooled jambs arid surrounds and plain planked doors. Single ground-floor horizontal sliding sash, with two 12-paned lights beneath a plain stone head. 2 similar first-floor openings, one with 12 panes to each light, the other with 6. Lower range with quoined doorway beneath a massive lintel, and a C20 garage floor. Stone staircase to east gable, serving a quoined doorway at first floor level. Listed for Group Value.
