Description
This outbuilding, likely a detached bakehouse or kitchen, was converted into two dwellings in the 19th century. It has elements from the 16th, 17th, and 19th centuries. The structure is built from coursed squared coal measures sandstone with sandstone dressings and features a stone slate roof with a stone-coped gable on the west side and a 20th-century gable stack. It is a single storey with attics.
On the south elevation, there are two doorways of different sizes in the center, each with 19th-century plank doors. To the right, there is a casement window set in a 17th-century recessed and chamfered stone surround, which has a lowered cill. To the left, there is a three-light wooden casement window and a gabled dormer with casement windows, also set in a 17th-century recessed and chamfered stone surround with a lowered sill, showing evidence of two sawn-off mullions at the top. Inside, there is a massive segmental arched hearth located in the west gable wall.
