House. Early C17 with C20 extensions. Coursed coal measures sandstone rising from a shallow chamfered plinth, with quoins, coped gables with moulded kneelers, gable and ridge stone stacks, one now in artificial stone, stone slates and concrete tiles. L-plan house, with C20 extension in artificial stone to east end. South elevation. Main range with three window front, the two eastern bays with 3-light recessed chamfer mullioned windows with transoms, and with continuous dripmoulds to the window heads. At ground floor level, the dripmould steps down over the lintel of a blocked doorway with quoined surround. West bay has C20 lean to porch in the angle of the two ranges, and above, a 2-light mullioned window. At eaves level on the advanced range, the remains of stone spouts, that to east side almost intact. Interior much altered, but with a roof truss with curved principles and one curved wind brace. The two bay C20 addition at the east end is not considered to be of special interest. The house was restored, and a former C17 gable to the north-west reinstated in 1986.
