Description
Cowley Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with 20th-century alterations and additions. It is constructed from coursed rubble coal measures sandstone, featuring quoins, plain gables, a single stone stack on the east gable, and a concrete tiled roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The central doorway has a quoined surround with a massive lintel and features a 20th-century planked door with a central glazed light. To the west of the doorway, there is a 3-light chamfer mullioned window, with a similar 2-light window above it. To the east of the doorway, there is a 20th-century 4-light flat-roofed bay window with glazing bar casements, along with a 2-light chamfer mullioned window above. The first floor also includes a central 3-light chamfer mullioned window. A single-storey addition to the east is not considered of special interest.
