Description
Lees Hall Farmhouse is a mid-17th century farmhouse, with alterations from the 18th and 19th centuries and 20th century additions. It is constructed of coursed squared coal measure sandstone with quoins, featuring coped gables with moulded kneelers, brick gable stacks, and a Welsh slated roof. The house is arranged in an L-shape, with an integral offshut having a catslide roof extending to the rear of the main range. The main south-facing range has two storeys and an attic, comprising three bays, with a two-bay wing extending to the rear on the west side. The south front has a central doorway, now enclosed by a 20th century stone gabled porch with a 20th century door. To either side of the doorway are stacked tripartite sash windows with glazing bars; the ground floor window on the west side has fixed lights flanking the central sash window and a dripmould. Above the doorway is a two-light recessed chamfer mullioned window, also beneath a dripmould extending further east, with 20th century leaded lights. A doorway with a chamfered quoined surround and lintel is found on the east gable, while the west gable, the west side wall, and the rear gable of the two-bay wing retain two and three-light recessed chamfer mullioned windows beneath dripmoulds.
