Description

Old Post Office Cottage is a house dating to the late 18th century, or possibly earlier, with alterations and extensions added in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of regularly coursed squared gritstone blocks with ashlar dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof. The cottage is two storeys high and has two bays. The ground-floor windows were restored around 1990 and consist of paired glazing bar sash windows, set within stone surrounds with a central mullion. The first-floor windows are tall 16-pane sash frames in flush stone surrounds; one is a large 20th-century window with glazing bars. There is a 20th-century planked door to the right. The building is listed for Group Value.
