Description
The Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century, with some remodelling in the 19th century. It is constructed from regularly coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings, featuring coped gables with plain kneelers, a single ashlar ridge stack, and a Welsh slate roof. The east elevation consists of three storeys and two bays, with stacked four-pane sash windows on either side of a central doorway. The doorway has a plain lintel above a shallow rectangular overlight and a 20th-century planked door. The windows have plain stone heads, and the ground-floor window at the south end is an enlarged shop window version of the domestic style. The attic windows are significantly smaller. The building is listed for its group value.
