Description
This is a farm outbuilding dated 1721, located to the east of Cairngorm. It is constructed of coursed rubble coal measures sandstone with ashlar dressings and features a stone slated roof. The building is single storey with overlofts. The south elevation has three bays, with a central quoined doorway that is topped by a massive lintel. Above the doorway, there is an inscribed plaque that reads 'W & M 1721'. To the west of the doorway, there is a substantial raking buttress, and to the east, there is a lower and shallower masonry projection against the base of the wall. The east bay contains a plain doorway beneath a shallow lintel. The rear elevation has a long catslide roof covering a lean-to projection from the eastern half of the building. There is a quoined taking-in door to the overloft in the east gable, also beneath a massive lintel. Additionally, there is a later window opening on the ground floor and a plain doorway leading to an offshut.
