Description
This building is a house located north-east of Rufford Farmhouse, dating from the mid-18th century, with some 19th-century additions. It is constructed from rubble coal measures sandstone with ashlar dressings, featuring plain gables, brick gable stacks, and a stone-slated roof. The south elevation has two storeys and three bays, with an additional single-storey bay.
The two-storey section has a central doorway that features a massive stone surround and a deep lintel, leading to a plain plank door. On either side of the doorway are stacked two-light flush mullioned windows with glazing bar casements, each containing six panes. The ground floor windows are fitted with plain boarded shutters. The single-storey section has a plain doorway beneath a stone lintel, leading to a plain door with a single square light. To the east, there is a two-light casement window with a shutter.
