Description

Rose Cottage is a pair of 18th century cottages located on Whaley Bridge Old Road. They are two storeys high and constructed from coursed stone, topped with a stone slate roof. Each cottage features one window on both storeys. Rose Cottage and No 57 have hung sash windows with glazing bars on the ground floor, set in wooden frames. The doorways are made of stone, with wider stones at the impost height. Rose Cottage has a plain door, while No 57 has a modern door. Nos 59 and 61 have modern glazing, with No 61 featuring a plain door with a simple surround. No 59 has a moulded stone doorway with a shouldered architrave, a moulded cornice, and a pediment with modillions, along with a modern door.
