Description
The Jodrell Arms Hotel is a building that features a Victorian Jacobean front elevation but has origins dating back to the 16th century, with elements from the mid-19th century. It has an irregular plan and stands two storeys high, with a rough rendered exterior and a Welsh slate roof. The front elevation showcases three gables, each topped with a large finial. The ends of the building project forward, each featuring one window in a stone surround with a cornice above a two-light window set in a rendered shouldered architrave. The gable ends are stone coped and include kneelers. The central block is set back and has a blocked arched window with a drip moulding in the attic storey, above two windows on the first floor. The ground floor is marked by a Tuscan columned porch with an entablature and cornice, which is now glazed, and features glazing bars on the windows and doors. The side elevation is two storeys tall and constructed of painted coursed stone, with a rusticated doorway. Inside, the hotel has chamfered beams.
