Description
White Hall is a house dating from the early 19th century, constructed from gritstone ashlar with gritstone dressings. It features a hipped slate roof with leaded ridges and stone ridge stacks that have top fillets. The building has a moulded eaves cornice and stands two storeys tall.
The south facade has three bays and includes a central porch supported by Ionic columns, which is now glazed. The porch features a semi-circular headed doorcase with a moulded architrave and glazed, panelled double doors. There are shallow plinths on either side and full-height casement windows with moulded architraves. Above the porch, there is a wrought iron balcony and a full-height casement window with a wooden blind box above it. On either side of the porch are shallow casement windows with similar architraves.
The east facade has a central two-storey canted bay window with windows on three sides. There are two full-height small pane casement windows on either side, also with moulded architraves. Above these, there are similar but shallower windows. To the north, there is an external curved staircase leading to a later embattled service wing that features Gothick detailing. Inside, the hall has a plasterwork ceiling, and the ground floor rooms are adorned with ornate marble fireplaces.
