Description

Lidgate Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that was substantially altered in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed gritstone with quoins, and has a slate roof with stone gable end stacks. The farmhouse has two storeys and three bays. The central doorcase is chamfered and quoined, with a massive lintel, and contains a 20th-century plank door. To the west of the door is a three-light recessed mullion window with 20th-century casements. To the east is a 20th-century window set in a 18th-century flush surround. Above the door is a 20th-century window set in a recessed and chamfered opening, which was formerly a two-light window. Above that, to the west, is a similar but larger opening containing a 20th-century window. Finally, to the east, there is a modern window in a 18th-century flush surround, matching the window below.
