Description

Dove Dale and Lilac Cottage are two cottages, originally dating from the 18th century, now combined to form three dwellings. They are constructed from coursed gritstone rubble with quoins and gritstone dressings. The cottages have stone gable and ridge stacks, one of which is plastered.

Weston Cottage, the northernmost of the two, features a bracketed, pedimented doorcase with a moulded architrave on its south side. It has a 20th-century plank and glazed door. A 3-light flush mullion window with casements is present, with a matching window above and a blank niche above the door.

The central cottage (Dove Dale) has a later inserted doorcase on its north side, housing a 20th-century plank and glazed door. A 3-light flush mullion window with small-paned casements is located to the side, with a matching window above. The remains of quoins are visible to the south.

Lilac Cottage, the southernmost cottage, is similar in design to the others. It has a plank door on its north side, with a 3-light flush mullion window above and below.
