Description

PARISH OF HOPWELL NOTTINGHAM ROAD SK 43 NW 1/15 (North Side) Farmbuilding at Manor Farm II

Farmhouse and attached farmbuildings, now all farmbuildings. Early C19 with minor later alterations. Whitewashed brick on brick plinth with plain tile roofs and one brick ridge stack. L-plan. Two storey north range, with single storey cowshed and threshing barn attached at right angles to east. North range has former farmhouse to east end with a central segment headed doorcase, flanked to either side by 4-light segment headed casement windows. Above two similar flat headed windows. Single bay to east with C20 sliding door over original segment headed doorcase and fixed pane window above. Attached to west of farmhouse are another four bays of farmbuildings with 3-light segment headed fixed pane windows either side of segment headed door to east and two late C19 windows to west with similar door beyond. Above, two fixed pane windows below the eaves. Eastern range has cowshed to north with flat headed door and segment headed window, and threshing barn to south with full height opening, flanked by buttresses, to northern end of the barn. The other three bays of the barn have three rows of breathers and a central buttress. Inside it has three king post trusses.
