Description
Wolds Farmhouse is a 17th to 18th century stone farmhouse located on Cavendish Road in Matlock. It features a stone tiled pitched roof with coped gable ends and end chimneys. The building has two storeys and three windows. The eastern end is the older section, marked by a date plaque from 1634 above the window, and is distinguished by stone quoins at its sides. The upper window in this section has two lights with a dripstone mould, while the lower window has three lights, both with stone mullions. The western end dates from the early 18th century and includes stone bands above and below the windows, with the lower window extending below the band. The door features a flat moulded hood and a frieze with a band and central panel, which continues as a shouldered architrave.
