Description
Lower Bailey Fold Farmhouse is a late 17th century farmhouse constructed from irregularly coursed gritstone with uneven quoins. It features a stone slate roof adorned with 19th century corniced chimneys and saddlestones, with the roof extending over a rear outshut.
On the first floor, there are three windows, each with 2 and 4 light chamfered mullions. The ground floor includes a hall window with a chamfered mullion-transom design featuring 6 lights, where the central mullion is larger, positioned to the right of the doorway. To the left of the doorway is a 5 light chamfered mullion window, both of which have drip moulds. A shallow pedimental gabled stone porch, likely added in the late 18th century, enhances the entrance.
The east gable end showcases a 2 light chamfered mullion window and a doorway with a slightly ogee arch supported by a massive 2 block lintel. The interior may also hold significant interest.
