Description
Innsacre House is an early 17th-century detached farmhouse, located in Shipton Gorge. The roof pitch was raised in the 19th century. The building is constructed of dressed stone with a slate roof, featuring reconstructed stone gable copings. Brick stacks are positioned at each gable end and to the left of the ridge.
The farmhouse has two storeys and three windows, each with four-light stone mullions and hollow chamfers, with labels above. The upper floor has three-light mullions without labels. The windows now have 20th-century metal casements, lacking leading. A stone porch is centrally positioned, featuring a gabled slate roof and a depressed-arch entrance with straight chamfers. The date "1689" is scratched into the jamb of the entrance. The entrance door is a 20th-century plank-and-muntin design with four glass lights. A stone shell-head niche is set into the wall to the right of the porch.
Inside, a large open fireplace is found in the left-hand gable end, and there are heavy, chamfered ceiling beams.
