Description

Belstone Cottage is a house, possibly dating to the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is located on Cromford Hill, Cromford. The construction is of coursed rubble with a tiled roof. Originally a farmhouse, it predates the nearby Arkwright houses. The building has an irregular three-window front with three ridge stacks. Most ground-floor windows have stone surrounds, and are modern casements. The doorway has a large lintel, and the half-glazed door possesses a pegged surround. No original windows remain at the rear.
