Description

No. 114 Cromford Hill is a former post office, dating from the early 19th century, as indicated on the 1841 Tithe Map. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with a tiled roof and features red and black brick ridge stacks. It is a single-storey structure with two planked doors in pegged surrounds. To the left is a late 19th-century three-light shop window, and to the right is a two-light window with a 20th-century casement. A wall letter-box is situated between the doors. The rear of the building has a blocked single-light window. This property holds a significant position among the 18th-century Arkwright houses at the higher end of Cromford Hill.
