Description

Clifton Hall is a house dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped and gabled Welsh slate roof, along with four brick stacks. The building has two and three storeys, with a three-bay south elevation. The ground floor includes a projecting single-storey range from the 19th century, which has a brick parapet and a central porch from the 20th century, supported by Ionic columns at the corners. On either side of the porch are glazing bar sash windows with wedge lintels. Above, there are three similar windows, with the central one being narrower, and three smaller windows above that. A low parapet caps the elevation.

The east elevation has four bays, with the left bay rising to three storeys and featuring a tripartite window on the ground floor, along with two tiers of glazing bar sashes above. The remaining bays are two storeys high, with a central doorway that has French doors, flanked by canted bay windows with glazing bar sashes. Above this are two more glazing bar sashes and a smaller canted bay window, all topped by a low parapet. The interior was remodelled in the mid-19th century. The property also includes walls and railings with intersecting ovals, which are attached to the south and garden wall, continuing along the road to the east.
