Description

Home Farm Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century to the early 18th century, designed in the long house style. It is constructed of coursed gritstone with gritstone dressings and features a tiled roof. One gable is stone-coped with moulded kneelers and a brick gable end stack, while the other end connects to another range of buildings. There is also a brick ridge stack.

The cottage is two-storeys high. On the south elevation, there are two sections. The left part has an off-centre doorway with a 20th-century plank door. To the left of the door is a 2-light chamfered mullion window, and to the right are a 2-light window that was formerly mullioned and another 2-light chamfered mullion window. The first floor has two similar windows and a central single light window.

The right-hand part of the cottage is double fronted, featuring a central doorway with a stone lintel and quoins, also with a 20th-century plank door. This section is flanked by 3-light flush square section mullion windows, with two similar windows above and a single light window over the door.

The former outbuildings attached at the west end have been converted into dwellings. These outbuildings previously had a door lintel inscribed "John Wilcockson 1749," which has since fallen and been destroyed.
