Description
43 Low Pavement is a building with an early 18th-century facade. It features painted ashlar stonework, a moulded cornice, and a blocking course. The western part of the building has three storeys and three windows, which are flanked by rusticated pilasters. There is an additional window on the eastern side, and the roof is slate with end chimneys. The windows have keystones and plain painted stone architraves that extend below the sills. The second-floor windows have glazing bars, while the first floor has late 19th-century glazing. The 19th-century shop front includes pedimented end consoles, a dentil cornice, and rusticated pilasters. The shop windows have modern glazing and extend over part of a former arched entrance to a rear passage, which leads to a rear wing.
