Description
Nos 47 and 47A on Low Pavement were built in 1885 and feature a red brick facade with stone and terracotta decorations. The outer brick pilasters are topped with ball finials, and there is a moulded stone eaves cornice along with a panelled brick blocking course. The centre pilasters support a small pediment with a ball finial, which is positioned above a date plaque. The building has three storeys and three windows, with sash windows; the centre windows on the second floor are paired, and there is an oriel bay on the first floor under a wide segmental arch. The ground floor has a modern shop front and an additional door on the eastern side. Inside, coursed stone is visible in the facade. This building is included for its group value.
