Description

Storer Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with additions and alterations from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone with ashlar dressings, featuring coped gables with ball finials and moulded kneelers, topped with plain tiled roofs. The building has a central ashlar stack with a moulded cap and is designed in an 'L' shape, with a later lower wing added to the north end. The main range faces the street and has an east elevation that is two stories high with attics. This elevation includes 2-light chamfered mullioned windows: one on the ground floor, two on the first floor, and one in the attic, along with a small single light window to the north. All windows are adorned with a continuous stringcourse above each opening and feature 20th-century glazing bar casements. There is a plain doorway located at the angle of the main range and the lower addition to the north end. The lower range consists of a single bay with a plain gable and an end stone stack, featuring a ground floor window with 20th-century joinery set within an 18th-century surround, and a glazing bar window above.
