Description
Spendlove Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the early 19th century, with a rear range dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone with ashlar dressings, featuring quoins, coped gables, and ashlar stacks at the end ridge and sidewalls, along with ball finials on the 18th-century range. The west elevation of the front range has three storeys and three bays, which originally had glazing bar sash windows in advanced stone frames but now features 20th-century casements on the ground and first floors. The centre of the second floor is blank. There is a plain central doorway with a 20th-century glazed door. The parallel 18th-century range to the east has a north elevation with stacked 2-light flush mullioned windows that have glazing bar casements. The west side has a steeply pitched lean-to roof with a 20th-century half-glazed door.
