Description
Mag Lane Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the late 17th century, with additions and alterations from the 18th century. It is built of coursed squared gritstone with ashlar dressings, rising from a chamfered plinth. The farmhouse features coped gables, moulded kneelers, and end brick ridge stacks. The structure has a three-bay range, with the southern bay being lower than the northern two bays, which have attics. The taller section includes two three-light chamfered mullioned windows, situated below 19th-century gabled dormers that have tiled cheeks, bargeboards, and horizontal sashes with glazing bars. There is a doorway at the ground floor of the south end, which has a four-panelled door with a rectangular overlight, all beneath a 20th-century canopy. On the north side, there is a late 19th-century tripartite sash window beneath a massive lintel. The lower south bay features a late 19th-century sash window at ground level and a narrow first-floor casement with glazing bars.
