Description
Iretonwood House is a house built around 1850. It is constructed of red brick, using 'Jumbo' bricks laid on end, with ashlar dressings and rusticated stone quoins. The building features brick chimney stacks with ashlar shafts set diagonally. The facade has three asymmetrical two-storey bays, with stepped gables on the left and centre. The centre bay projects forward and has a small oriel above a four-centred arched doorway, which is flanked by tall lights with dripmoulds. The right bay includes a large canted bay window with a pierced parapet. The stone mullioned windows are also beneath dripmoulds. An octagonal turret with a short slated spire and weathervane is located at the left corner. The right gable is stepped and features a stone oriel. There are late 19th-century additions to the rear, including a service wing to the northeast.
