Description

Biggin Old Hall is an early 18th-century house located on the north side of the A517 road between Ashbourne and Belper, in the parish of Biggin. The house is constructed of brick with gritstone quoins and dressings, topped with a plain tile roof and stone coped gables featuring kneelers. A central brick stack rises from the roof. The building has a T-shaped plan and two floors. A projecting brick plinth is visible at the base.

The south elevation features a first-floor stone string course. A central doorway is defined by brick voussoirs and a stone keystone, leading to a plank door. This doorway is flanked by windows with small panes and top-hung casements, each with brick voussoirs and stone keystones. Two similar windows are positioned above, but with segment-headed tops. A former central window has been blocked.
