Description

The Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage located in Ireton Wood, within the parish of Idridgehay and Alton. It features a front made of coursed squared gritstone, with rubble on the other sides. The building has plain gables, brick stacks at each end of the ridge, and a plain tiled roof. It is two storeys high and has three bays. The windows are framed in cast iron, with glazing bars and central opening lights set beneath deep lintels. There is a narrow window with modern casement on the first floor in the center, and the central doorway has a plain door also beneath a deep lintel.
