Description
White House is a house dating from the 17th century, with remodelling and additions from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone, with some brick additions, featuring plain gables, end ridge brick stacks, and a plain tiled roof. The house has a 'T' plan layout, with a lower wing added or remodelled at the rear.
On the south elevation, the house is two storeys high and has three bays with glazing bar sash windows in plain openings beneath deep lintels. The central doorway has a quoined surround and a six-panelled door. There are 2-light recessed chamfer mullioned windows on the upper part of the east gable and on the ground floor of the west gable. The lower brick wing has a quoined door surround and stacked 2-light casement windows on the west wall.
