Description
This milepost, located 500 yards west-southwest of the junction of Wirksworth Road and Calladine Lane in the parish of Shottle and Postern, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular shape that rises to a back plate with a segmental top. The milepost is inscribed with the following information: "SHOTTLE/LONDON/135/MILES/WIRKSWORTH/4/MILES DERBY/8/MILES."
