Description

This is a milepost dating from the early 19th century, made of cast iron. It features a short triangular sectioned head with a canted top, which is mounted on a plain column with a simple capital. The edges of the head have raised fillets, and there is raised lettering on both sides. The west side is inscribed with 'NOTT 16 RIPLEY 2', while the east side has 'CROM 7 CRICU 2'.
