Description
This is a barn located 10 meters to the southwest of number 81 on Main Street in Lyddington, dated JP (or R?) 1758 on a tablet with a moulded cornice. The front is made of ironstone ashlar with Uppingham stone quoins, while the rest is constructed from rubble. The barn has a corrugated iron roof, which was formerly thatched, and features a left gable with stone coping and a moulded kneeler. It consists of four bays, with a cart entry between the second and third bays, equipped with a corrugated iron sliding door and glazing above. To the right of the entry is a high two-light leaded casement window, and to the left is a stable door with a flat stone arch, keyblock, and a date plaque above. There is also a loft door below the eaves on the far left. Additionally, there are two small lean-to extensions on the left, one made of 20th-century brick and the other of stone with a pantile roof. The rear wall has vent slits and a blocked door. Inside, there are tie beam and collar trusses.
