Description
This small barn, now used as a cowshed, is located about 50 meters northeast of Lyddington Bedehouse and dates from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble and features a Collyweston slate roof with coped gables and moulded kneelers. The barn is part lofted and consists of four bays. On the southeast side, there is a cart entry, a small rectangular window, and a large 20th-century shelter with a segmental corrugated iron roof, although the shelter itself is not of special interest. The northeast gable includes a loft door and a high vent slit. Attached to the northwest side is a 20th-century weatherboard outbuilding with a rear stone wall, which is also not of special interest. Inside, the barn has a 20th-century brick partition and retains its original roof structure, including tie-beams, principals, butt purlins, and later collars.
