Description
No. 93 Main Street is a house dating from the 17th century, which has been altered and extended to the left in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with Uppingham stone quoins. The original Collyweston slate roof has been replaced with a Welsh slate roof, featuring coped gables and a front gable with moulded kneelers. There are brick chimneys located at the center and on the extension. The house is positioned at right angles to the road and has two storeys.
The two original bays on the right have three-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars and wooden lintels. The central door, which is from the 20th century, serves as a baffle entry and is sheltered by a semi-conical shingled porch supported by wooden posts. The later bay to the left has a 20th-century colourwashed roughcast front with matching wooden casements, while the rear wall is made of rubble stone. There is also a 20th-century garden room at the far end. The gable facing the road features 20th-century three-light wooden casements with Uppingham stone lintels, and there are 20th-century semi-dormers in the rear wall. Inside, the house has stop-chamfered ceiling beams and a fireplace lintel.
