Description

LYDDINGTON MAIN STREET SP 8697-8797 (west side) 8/94 No 93. GV II

House. C17, altered and extended to left C19-C20. Coursed ironstone rubble with Uppingham stone quoins. C20 Welsh slate roof replacing Collyweston slates, coped gables, front gable with moulded kneelers. Brick chimneys to centre and extension. At right-angles to road. 2 storeys. 2 original bays to right have 3-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars and wooden lintels. Central C20 door, a baffle entry, with C20 semi-conical shingled porch on wooden posts. Later bay to left has C20 colourwashed roughcast front with matching wooden casements, rubble stone rear wall, and C20 garden room to far end. Gable to road has C20 3-light wooden casements with Uppingham stone lintels. C20 semi-dormers in rear wall. Interior has stop-chamfered ceiling beams and fireplace lintel.
